{G r a t i t u d e * S u n d a y :: Sunday’s heartfelt tradition.
A time to slow down, to reflect, to be grateful. A list of gratitude.}

Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
…Bits of color still lingering in the fall garden, like the nasturtiums. (Though they aren’t looking quite as pretty now as in these pictures since they got a bit pummeled in rain storms the last few days.)
.
…Hearing geese flying overhead, watching the fall colors change and deepen, and feeling the air grow colder. It gave me a cozy feeling to be bringing out our wooly layers for the first time.
.
…Bracken’s patience during long car rides. Being so full of energy, I’m grateful he is able to be as patient as he is.
.
…The fact that the flat tire we got during our trip didn’t happen on the interstate!
.
…How wonderful and amazingly comfortable it feels to sleep in your own bed after being away. It’s always one of my favorite things about coming back home, a good night sleep.
.
…Opening the window and hearing the sound of heavy rain outside and feeling that special freshness in the air that rain brings.
.
…A deeper compassion for those around me when I see their suffering.
.
…Grabbing out my pen and paper and drawing for the first time in so long and feeling like I was being reunited with a forgotten part of myself. Why do we so often forget to do the things we love?
.
…Sundays at home, when we don’t have anywhere we need to go. Sometimes Sundays are spent being busy elsewhere or there’s lots to be done around here, but the times when we spend a part of that home time giving ourselves the gift of some quiet downtime it is so appreciated.
