I posted new buttons in the shop this week. (We had some sun and I snapped as many pictures as I could while the skies were clear!) We’ve been low on smaller sized buttons that don’t have any designs on them, so that’s mostly what I listed. Jeff made some black walnut buttons in a 3/4 inch size that turned out so gorgeous! I listed sets of 8, 7, 6, 4, and 3 of those. (With more on the way.) In addition to the black walnut buttons, there’s a set of two carved heart buttons in red cedar (that I loved so much I almost couldn’t sell) and a set in Oregon madrone wood (shown in that last picture.) I took pictures of the black walnut buttons with pink yarn and brown yarn, but I’ve used our black walnut buttons with so many of my projects over the years and they look beautiful with many different colors of yarn- yellow, grey, robin’s egg blue, and violet, to name a few.
Our next shop update will include earrings. I realize we are very low on shawl pins in the shop and those are next on Jeff’s list. Other than shop talk, I had some other things to share with you today, which I why I gave this post such a creative title, Updates. Ha! We have a giveaway this weekend over on Ginny’s blog, Small Things. We’re giving away a set of 8 black walnut buttons in the 3/4 inch size (shown above) from that new batch of buttons Jeff made, and also credit to spend in the shop. The giveaway ends on Monday, so head over this weekend if you’d like to enter. (There’s also a coupon code at the bottom of the giveaway post for 15% off all orders over $15 in the shop. It will be the last discount we’ll be offering in the shop this year.)
In the giveaway I also mentioned that we will be at Stash yarn shop a week from today, December 16th, for a Pop-Up Shop. You longtime readers know how much I love Stash. If you’re in the area, we’d love for you to come say hello! We’ll be there from 12-4 that day. We’ll be bringing buttons, along with wooden jewelry. It’s a great opportunity to shop with us in person just in time to get those holiday gifts. I’ll be there to chat and answer questions. (And you know I’ll be checking out the yarn! I might even bring some knitting along.) I hope some of you can make it!
Oh, and one more thing. I wanted to mention Instagram. Those of you who follow me there have probably noticed that my activity has been pretty sleepy since I first started, with posts few and far between. (My last post was last February! Whoops.) I joined Instagram when someone wanted to tag us on there, but noticed we weren’t on there, and strongly encouraged us to be. I’m glad I did because I’ve so loved seeing the projects with WoolyMossRoots buttons shared there!
But back to why I wasn’t posting much. I only use our cell phone when I go to town, and don’t use it much there when I do. That, along with the reason that our cell phone didn’t take very great pictures (it was a challenge to even get non-blurry ones), was why I hardly ever posted on Instagram. Honestly, I went back to look at our page on Instagram recently and cringed at the photo quality of so many of my pictures there! For quite awhile I had been wanting to be able to use Instagram from my computer and to be able to use the photos I take with my camera, but try as we might- we couldn’t get it to work on my computer.
Jeff, bless his heart, figured it out for me this week! I was so thrilled (and incredibly grateful to him for taking the time out of his work day to do that.) I decided it was time for a fresh start on our Instagram page and I archived all my old pictures. That felt so good to do that! I can’t tell you how much I prefer being able to post on Instagram from my computer, I couldn’t be more pleased with this change. Our page looks pretty bare right now, but I’ll be able to post much more regularly there, so it won’t be that way for long. Here we are on Instagram if you’d like to connect with us there. Okay, I think I covered all the updates for now.
Have a great weekend everybody!
