Yesterday I saw the glorious sight of the first poppy blooming in the garden! This morning, when I headed out to water, another poppy had joined her. I love how poppies open up to the sun and then close their petals to go to sleep at night. These poppies came up on their own, which is something I love so much about the garden- each year there are surprises, a beautiful symbiosis of new seeds and previous seasons.
Blue Hydrangeas are a beautiful fluffy mass of delicate flowers. I love to put them in vases around the house because they last so long and feel so good to have around.
Bright yellow flowers in the Winter Squash. The Squash is really thriving this year, huge, healthy and beautiful! I love how the squash wrap their curly little tendrils around the fences or whatever they find nearby and I love hearing the rooster crow while I water the garden.
Sunflowers bring immense Joy to my heart! They are not yet blooming in our garden, but we were given a beautiful bouquet for our Anniversary and I took a picture of this one aglow with Sunshine! I just soak up all the good things around me this time of year. All the warm rays, bright beauty, blooming brilliance, bird song, succulent growth, luscious ripeness……
We live in a forest filled with Huckleberries. Right now the Red Huckleberries are ripe and so delicious! We’ve been snacking on them when we take the goats out to graze or take the dogs for a hike up the mountain. They are so refreshing, intense with bursting sour flavor, and rich in Vitamin C!
Our Spirits need to be fed every day. This time of year there are so many things to Nourish us and Feed our Joy.
