Carlanda has got to be one of Wooly Moss Roots’ biggest fans. First of all, she has read every single blog post (wow- I’m flattered!) Second of all, she checks for new posts daily and has given constant support and left loving comments that always make me smile. Tonight I found an e-mail from her with this picture and a message:
“I WAS SORTING THRU ALOT OF ART STUFF GETTING READY TO GO TO ART AND SOUL CLASSES IN TWO WEEKS IN LAS VEGAS, AND THIS WAS SOMETHING I HAD CUT OUT OF A MAGAZINE. LOVE IT AND THOUGHT YOU WOULD TOO! XO CARLANDA”

Mary Jane Butters is one of my personal heroes. She used to be a backcountry ranger, and now she’s a modern organic-farm-living pioneer! I started getting her magazine back when we were buying her dehydrated organic backpacking food at the Moscow Food co-op in Idaho, and you could get a year’s subscription if you ordered a certain amount of her food. Now it’s a regular magazine, and she has books out too! Maryjanes Ideabook,Cookbook,Lifebook is so much fun! She has a stitching room book and an outpost book too.
