Hello Crystal! This homemade almond butter is so delicious and nourishing too! Yes, you need a food processor. I will be doing a blog post with the recipe eventually, but here it is now so you can make some. This recipe comes from my favorite cookbook ‘Nourishing Traditions’
2 cups crispy almonds 3/4 cup coconut oil 1/4 tablespoon raw honey 1 teaspoon sea salt
You will find the recipe for crispy almonds under the category on this blog titled ‘Soul Food Recipes.’
Place almonds and salt in food processor and grind to a fine powder. Add honey and coconut oil and process until smooth. It will be liquid, but will harden when chilled. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. Serve at room temperature. I decreased the amount of honey in this recipe because it was way too sweet for me. You can taste it and add more to your liking. Enjoy! Let me know how it turns out! Love, Taryn
I have a craving now… :)Do you have a recipe? Do I make it in the food processor? I suppose I just add quantities until I get the consistency/taste I want?
I’ve been looking to make my own butters but put off when I saw the price tag of the nice ones ($5k Yikes!)
