Today has been a day filled with sunshine and much celebration. Yes, Jeff and I are celebrating. Celebrating the good news. Along with family and friends. Jeff and I are joyful, happy, radiant, glowing, excuberant! ……….. Because I am pregnant!
I know!!! It’s so exciting! And now we are telling the world and it feels great to have so many people share in the joy with us. I feel so grateful to be surrounded by so many beautiful women, sharing their support and pregnancy wisdom.
Our baby is due in October. I can already imagine a field full of pumpkins with my big pregnant belly….
I’m feeling strong, grounded and healthy. We feel ready. It’s time. We are happy to welcome another member to our family and this time another human. Our family additions tend to be of the furry variety.
I called the Birthing Center in Eugene today.  We have an appointment on Wednesday. I’m so grateful they got us in so soon. Our midwife’s name is Anita. She came highly recommended by our good friends. Awhile ago I read something Anita wrote about midwifery and it gave me chills. I had a good feeling about her. I told Jeff. Today she answered the phone when I called and I liked the way she sounded. We are looking forward to meeting with her for the first time Wednesday. I originally thought I would research all the local midwives and meet as many as I could, then decide which one felt right. We already consider Anita our midwife and we haven’t even met her. But we have a good feeling.
