Yesterday morning I came downstairs to a surprise. The house was warm from a fire Jeff had already got started in the woodstove. I could hear gentle music playing on the stereo. I smelled something incredible. When I entered the kitchen I saw many things at once. Jeff had put away all the clean dishes from the drying rack, made a gourmet breakfast (he was going to bring me breakfast in bed, but I came downstairs too soon), and in the middle of the kitchen table was a beautiful vase of flowers from our garden. (Did I mention that Jeff is wonderful?)

What a great way to start the day. I’ve been enjoying the cheery flowers in the kitchen so much and this vase of flowers is special because it’s the first one we’ve had in our home this year. Jeff amazes me with the arrangements he creates. He can emerge from the garden with an incredible vase of flowers when I didn’t even know we had that many flowers.

So hooray for May Flowers that bring so many smiles.
