Even when we know the goats are due any time, it’s always a surprise when the babies finally arrive. 

We had a fun day at Saturday Market yesterday. Our family came to visit (my Dad, Dorrie, Rachelle, and Pete) and we saw lots of friends. 

Then when we came home we were delighted to see that our mama goat, Bendi, had just had twins. She was still licking them clean when we came down to the goat house. All day yesterday, I kept wondering aloud if we would come home to babies and we did. Our family could not have picked a better weekend to visit, they got to see cute baby goats galore! 

Bendi had twin girls and they are both black with white markings. It is truly amazing how soon the babies start walking and frolicking around. Bendi had just given birth and soon her frisky eldest daughter was already going to play with the older boys and run around the yard. Bendi had her hands full trying to take care of both of her girls who liked to venture in opposite directions. She is doing an amazing job, she is a very good mother.
