Saturday Market surprised us with warm sunshine. When we finished setting up our booth, we sat out front and soaked up the sun. It felt great. With all the rain we’ve been having lately, the heavenly sunshine brought out radiant smiles from people everywhere.
When I headed over to the Farmer’s Market to pick out our weekly bag-o-veggies, I felt inspired to take a picture of these multi-colored carrots and radishes. I’m not the only one who takes pictures of the food there, I’ve seen it bring out passionate photographers on many occasions.
At the Farmer’s Market, I saw a t-shirt that said ‘Be in Gratitude’ and it really stuck with me. I love this phrase and kept thinking about it throughout the day.
Yesterday we felt grateful for the sun, good sales, friends, and an overall fun market day. We packed a delicious salad from the garden, that we immensely enjoyed and there was so much good music on stage and all over the place.
In the afternoon, I curled up underneath our table, with my coat as a pillow, and took a nap. I hardly ever nap, but yesterday I felt the inclination and I awoke feeling so rejuvenated- it was just what I needed.

After market, we came home to a warm dinner that was ready in the crock pot.
Now, that’s what I call a good Saturday!

Hi Luisa,
No, it doesn’t let me view your facebook page.
I was vegetarian for quite a while. It was good for me to take a break from meat and cleanse, but then I became extremely sick. My body needs meat and we are so grateful to have a local source for healthy meat.
Mmmmm… salami!! 🙂

Thank you Taryn! I dont have a blog, but I do have you added on Facebook, I dont know if you’re able to view my page? The chicken sounds wonderful! I’ve been trying to go vegetarian, but I find I still have to throw meat in there somewhere. You had lamb salami on your page a few weeks ago, about that same time I had just purchased some salami that had peppered edges and it was fantastic!
Luisa 🙂

Hi Luisa!
We made a chicken that came from our friend’s farm (pastured and humanely raised- hooray for small family farms!) We also put brown rice and carrots in with the chicken, which makes the brown rice sooo yummy because it has all that flavorful gelatin in it! Then we ate some raw, fermented kimchi on the side.
Great to hear from you!
Love, Taryn

I love taking pictures of food and hearing about food, my only question is…what was in the crockpot? 🙂
