Jeff and I love discovering new ways to live simply and eco-friendly. I’ve felt inspired to include a new section on this blog called ‘Eco Ideas’ where I feature small ways that we can all make a difference in our daily lives. It feels so good to live in a way that is good for the earth too. And it’s always good to have reminders: here is a very easy way to make a difference- Bring your own bag!
We have several bags that we take along with us whenever we go shopping. I love going to Farmer’s Market, filling a big bag with fresh vegetables and thinking about all the plastic bags we are not using! I see so many people at the Farmer’s Market with baskets and bags that they bring with them, what a beautiful sight!
We are constantly cutting back on our use of plastic and this is one of the best ways to do that. It feels so good to come home from shopping without the massive piles of plastic bags. Bringing your own bags to the Grocery Store, Farmer’s Market, and Library is an easy way to make a big difference.
We have a few bags that we use, which we hang by the front door to help remind us to bring them along. I would like to get a few more bags because we use them so much and having more would certainly come in handy. Do you bring your own bags with you when you head out the door?
What are some of your favorite ways to be eco-friendly?
We’d love to hear!

My pleasure Abby! 🙂 Thank you for enjoying!
Do you sell your bulk cloth bags on your etsy store?

Yes! I was just saying to Steven the other day how I finally have gotten it down to where I never forget. My secret is to always bring my bags right back to the car after unloading groceries (also having lots of bags helps). I sewed up some cloth bulk bags a while back and really enjoy using those as well, in place of the plastic. I am looking forward to your new Eco Ideas section. Thanks for sharing and inspiring so much.

I love our cloth grocery bags! I keep a bunch of them in the car all the time, and there have been a couple times recently I forgot one and the store just gave me a free cloth bag they were happening to give out that day!
