My mom loves surprises. Recently she surprised me with the news that she is visiting for a few days! I am so excited to get to spend some time with her. We pick her up at the Eugene Airport tomorrow, after our midwife appointment.
My mom and grandmother always have beautiful vases of flowers in the guest room whenever I stay with them. So, with their tradition in mind, this morning I put a vase of flowers in the room where my mom will be staying.
Last week I took advantage of the heat wave and got lots of laundry dried. I washed all the bedding in the house and the sheets dried in a matter of minutes. It was great. I washed the kitchen floors so they will sparkle for her arrival. Today I am sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing… and there is a fresh breeze coming through all the windows.
And tomorrow, I will be able to give my mom a big hug!
With us living in different states, I appreciate that now more than ever.

My mom and I got to see each other in the very beginning of my pregnancy. She wasn’t planning on coming to visit again until the baby was born. Now it is such a gift to spend time with her while my belly is all big! 🙂
Yes, the internet is the best!
Thank you! 🙂

I know what you mean. My mom lives in a different state too! I’d always thought she’d be nearby when I was pregnant, so it’s been a little sad that doesn’t get to see me growing each and every day. Thanks to the magic of the internet though, I e-mail her updates almost every day. I bet you do the same thing!
Hope you have a wonderful visit 🙂
