This week I have been focusing a lot of energy on loading new items on our Etsy Store. Jeff keeps creating so many beautiful things and I want to get them out into the world.
To balance the indoor computer time, I’ve been starting my mornings off with some nature time, fresh air and moving my body.
Even with this big belly, I’ve been getting up the mountain just as always. Maybe a little slower, but getting up there just the same. The dogs always accompany me and sometimes the goats do too. I’ve been picking blackberries and just this week have spotted some ripe huckleberries on my way up. There are blue, purple and black ones. Some shiny and some not. Each bush has it’s own unique taste. All tiny, perfect berries and bursting with flavor.
Today I sat on my favorite log and watched the goats graze. There is something so peaceful about watching them eat. The forest was wrapped around us and everything was so vivid and green. A huckleberry bush was conveniently right in front of where I sat, so I had myself a delightful snack while I watched. I’m grateful that we are able to let the goats free range. I know that every nutritious morsel they eat is going into their milk, which nourishes Jeff, the baby, and I. What a blessing.
As I hiked back down the mountain towards home, I snacked on huckleberries along the way.
Spending time in nature each day is a gift I give to myself.
Sometimes I feel so busy and think that I don’t have time, but when I take the time the benefits are incredible. I feel good in my body, inspired throughout my entire day, grounded, peaceful and content. My whole day seems to flow more smoothly.
What gift have you given to yourself lately?
