There were still a few things I was wanting to have done before baby’s arrival. One of them was to make a belly cast, which Jeff and I did yesterday. It’s something we will always treasure, to be able to look and see the way my belly looked right before baby came.
Nesting has been going very well. There’s been a lot of mopping, dusting, sweeping, window washing and even bathtub scrubbing happening around here. (If you haven’t yet discovered it, I highly recommend Bon Ami scrub cleaner. My step mom told me about it and I’ve used it ever since. It’s eco-friendly and gets your sinks, bathtubs, etc. the cleanest you’ve ever seen them!)
I’ve knitted lots of little baby hats for family and friends over the years. Now I am finally getting around to knitting a hat for our little one. A friend gifted us Alpaca Yarn and it’s soo heavenly soft. I’m working on the top now, which is pointed like an elf’s hat.
I feel like we are weaving together all the final things before baby’s arrival. I feel inward and quiet these days. I’m grateful for the rain that gives me an opportunity to get caught up indoors.
We’ve been freezing foods to have easy meals when baby’s here. We’re drying up two of our goats to make the milking routine easier too. Getting all the final herbs dried in the garden, last minute harvesting, more plants pulled up. Laundry caught up. Always more cleaning I want to do.
