This morning I got things done around the house while Bracken was snug against my belly in the ergo carrier. He loves that thing and so do I (thanks Grandma Jensen/GiGi!) Jeff has been creating in his workshop, preparing for Holiday Market (our big market of the year.) He created some new handcarved Tree pendants and necklaces due to popular demand and I’ve been spending the afternoon loading them on our online Etsy Store.
As I’ve been snuggling with Bracken while I load them, I’ve been feeling so incredibly grateful that we work from home. It makes it so we get to eat all three meals together as a family. And it gives opportunities like taking pictures of Jeff’s art with mossy backgrounds in between hauling firewood. We can set our own schedule and our home life can blend beautifully with our “work” life (which doesn’t feel like work at all since we love it so much.) I would miss Jeff and Bracken terribly if I didn’t spend my days with them.
We give thanks for this gift every day.
Our friend Lindsey bought a pendant and some buttons from our Etsy Store recently and wrote a blog post about how much she likes them. We were happily surprised when we saw it.
You can read it here:
You can see her vintage wool coat that she spruced up with some naturally shed deer horn buttons Jeff made. And you’ll see lots of other wonderful things on her site while your there (all the delicious food pictures are sure to make you hungry!)
Thanks Lindsey.
Nathan- We are so glad you like it! Thanks for letting us know. π
My partner just gave me one of your necklaces for our 5th anniversary, it looks wonderful! Thank you so much and best wishes!
Thanks Tonya! Glad to share in gratitude with you π
We are so blessed to be living our dream, it took many years to achieve but my husband and I and 6 children work with our hands creating and living simply on our homestead. You are also blessed to be living the way you are. I so enjoy visiting you here.
Warm wishes, Tonya
Thanks Linzie. Jeff is always making new buttons. Let us know if you are looking for something in particular.
Evi- so happy to hear other people as pleased with the Ergo carrier as we are. π
Lindsey- Thank YOU for writing that blog post. π
I’m glad we can inspire you. You inspire me as well!
Love to you all! Thanks for the comments.
Oh wow Taryn, thank you for the little “feature”! That’s so sweet…
I think it’s just the neatest thing that you guys can work from home doing something you love, be together during the day as a family, and live the lifestyle you do. You inspire me!
We are actively working toward the same lifestyle, but when I get mired down in the work-a-day reality of the present moment, I come to your blog!
Love to you & family!
Lindsey
Yes, the Ergo carrier is indeed great! I have one myself for my baby girl Erato and we both love going for walks with it π
How wonderful of her to do that! Your antler buttons are beautiful! My mother in law is quite the knitter and I’m thinking these might be a nice holiday gift for her….of course she’d probably just gift one of the knitted sweaters back! I’m heading off to check them out…..
Blessings, Linzie
