Today we had our last appointment at Sacred Waters Birthing Center. I was sad to have it be our last because we’ve enjoyed going there so much. Bracken is 7 weeks old (he’ll be 8 weeks on Thursday.) Today we weighed him and I’m happy to announce he now weighs 10 lbs 9 oz! He is growing fast. We got to spend time with all the beautiful midwives/midwives in training that were at Bracken’s birth.
Here’s the group:
Janelle, Me, Bracken, Verona, Heather, Anita
These are all the people that were at Bracken’s birth (besides Papa Jeff of course.) Verona was in Heather’s belly at the time. She was born on October 25th and we got to meet her for the first time today. It felt like it was Bracken’s first play date. 🙂
Jeff and I are so grateful to Anita for all of her loving support throughout the pregnancy and birth. We wanted to do something special for her. When she came for a home visit, she had admired a wool felted wall hanging our friend Lara made. We love Lara’s artwork and love doing trades with her. Anita had told us about her dream for her retirement- to move to the country and get a cow and some chickens. We described this dream to Lara who created a beautiful custom wall hanging just for Anita. We gave it to her today, which made our hearts very happy. Lara wrote a blog post about the wall hanging. You can read it here: Homestead Dream
Thank you Sacred Waters for guiding, loving, and supporting so many families!
We love you!
Thanks ladies!

Hi there,
Just wanted to pop in and say how much I have been enjoying your blog over the past few months! Such a lovely life you and your family lead, and it’s a treat to read new posts about where your life is taking you.
Happy Holidays!

I remember our last midwife appointment feeling the same way….it’s such a beautiful, healing place to go, a time to revel in yourself and the amazing things your body can do! May you find continued support elsewhere!
Thanks Taryn! I’m so glad Anita loved it. I loved making it for her, she has a beautiful dream!
