All three mamas have given birth. Each one had twins. We now have six babies! What a riot they are to watch.
Fuzzy little goat head
This one is very friendly and likes to be pet under the chin
Sweet fuzzy face
Laying in the sunshine
Went back to the yard to hang with their friend
“Hmm.. does this look like a good napping spot?”
Mama Faun knows it takes a lot of eatin’ to feed those hungry babies!
Freedom!
Beauty in the barn
And now for a really sweet surprise!
Baby Bracken and Baby Goat meet up close and personal!
(This next series of pictures really cracks me up!)
(Bracken is on the carrier on my belly)
Trying to climb my leg
Baby goat wants to come ride in the carrier too!
“Whoa! Let’s do that again! Can we mom?!”
Hope that makes you smile like it did me!

We love goat milk too and love it raw. I wasn’t able to drink the milk plain, but had to culture it first so I could digest it so I made kefir. We’ve milked our goats for the past few years, while sharing with the babies, and we love it. But recently I discovered I’m allergic to dairy so we are not sure if we will milk this year. I’ll blog more about this soon.

Kris- Oppsie! I forgot to answer your question about the spoons. we sold out! Jeff just finished a few new ones in his shop last night & I just got pictures of them. I will be posting some on our etsy shop today. π

Taryn, Mazie is a red Angus that I have had since she was a day old. I raised her on goat milk. She will be 3 in July. I always said I would milk her when she has a calf. And I am. I also milk my goats. We drink it raw. I do strain right away and chill quickly. It is the best milk ever. I do make cheese and soap and use the milk for everything. Also make bread and it goes in there along with our eggs. But Mazie, this being her first calf and being a beef breed, will not have much milk right now. I will milk her when I need milk. We will share with Chuck, if he will let us. And she won’t have as much cream as a dairy breed. My friend has 2 Jerjey cows that I have been getting milk from while my goats are dry and getting ready for kids in a few weeks. I love goat milk.
Will you be milking your goats?

Elizabeth-I checked out your blog- what a beautiful family you have! When I saw your goat and chicken pictures I could tell we have a lot in common. π
Kris- Congrats on your calf! Do you do anything with the milk or just drink as is?
Excited for you to enjoy your goat babies when they arrive. π

And I thought I had seen some wooden spoons in your shop but now can’t seem to find them. Where did they go?

I am in baby love!! Both the real baby and the goat babies. They are all so adorable.Great pictures. It will be so fun in a few years when Bracken is toddling and playing with the goat kids.
My cow had her calf this weekend. It’s a bull calf. I have been milking her a little to get her used to it.
My 2 does have a few more weeks then we will have little cuties playing around again.
It’s so nice to see your goats in such a natural habitat.
