We layed out!!
We found a sunny spot in the garden, set out a blanket, and laid in sun bliss! This was a momentous occasion because it was our first time laying out this year and that’s something to get excited about! Every cell in my body seemed to be celebrating right along with me. It was like a muscle relaxing spa treatment in our very own backyard. What word best describes the experience? Heavenly. That’s the word.
We soaked it up. It was so warm. We loved every bit of it.
I’ll be the first to admit that we are a family of sun worshipers. But we are wise about our sun time. We like to lay out in the morning or afternoon sun, when it’s gentler. If we are out in the middle of the day, we cover up with straw hats and thin white layers. We protect our skin from getting burned. We aren’t doing it to get a tan (although lightly rosy sun-kissed skin is healthy, radiant and beautiful.) We lay out because it feels so good, we enjoy getting some Vitamin D to help our bodies thrive, and because being in the sun is essential to our well being. Our bodies need sunshine just like plants need sunshine.
It feeds our inner light.
Yes, I’m a sun worshiper.
(here’s where you visualize me bowing before it’s greatness)
I love you sun!

Julie,
I always forget that it’s a different season there. Enjoy your indoor cozy time, that is such a gift too. The way you describe it sounds so cozy and nourishing. 🙂

How lovely for you!
Its funny, here is West Australia, we had our first Autumn rains this week and oh how we had been longing for them. After the hottest, driest and longest summer since records began, I have never longed so much for winter. The thought of the wood fire slowly burning, soup on, freshly baked bread (to go with the soup of course), snuggling, knitting while listening to the rain, ooh, I can’t wait!
Enjoy! I love the sun, but I wish it was a tad cooler here!
