Here is Jeff and Bracken in our market booth yesterday.
Set up was a little bit stressful, so we are coming up with some creative solutions to make our set up quicker and easier on Saturdays. After set up was done, our moods lifted and we were happy to be at market. There was sunshine and it was a picture perfect day. We even had to shed layers because it got so warm. We loved the woodsy look our new rug gave our booth. We hung Jeff’s paddles and spoons, which swirled in the wind and kind of made our booth look like a gypsy wagon. We were so grateful to all our customers for their support.
We had an unexpected visitor throughout the day that made me laugh- it was a tiny mouse. It kept venturing out from the bushes behind our booth searching for food. It was very outgoing and even ventured into our booth a few times. I think mice are adorable and enjoy them as long as they are outside (and not in our house!)
We did some fun trades, which always delights me to no end. With all this sunshine, Bracken has been in need of a sun hat, so we did a trade for a hemp one with our friend Kim of Watermelon Kidz. (We love hemp fabric because it lasts forever.) We also traded for some wood kitchenware (several items that Jeff doesn’t have the tools to make.) And we did our weekly trade for vegetables with our friends at farmer’s market. (I’ll share some pictures of farmer’s market fun in the next post.) We only have a few bowls in our house and two broke last week, so Jeff and I each treated ourselves to a new pottery bowl, complete with handles! They will get a lot of use. I visualized mine with heaps of fresh raspberries in it because I have an intense craving for raspberries lately (and I can’t wait till they’re at market!)

See Jeff’s braided beard? Bracken likes to pull on it and then I refer to Jeff as “dad on a rope.”
Trying on his new sun hat. Kind of looks like a wee fisherman with the front flap back, eh?
We are going to need this hat for outings and harvesting this summer
Getting mama smooches while he plays with his hat string.

Market days are filled with so many good things and then by the end of the day, we are so exhausted and laying in bed to fall asleep never felt so good!

Then today was busy, so I’m grateful to have some unexpected time to write this.
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!

This will be Laurel’s second rainbow skirt from Kim – she’s now outgrown the one we bought two or three years ago. They’re so beautiful!

Farmer’s Markets are becoming more popular, which is wonderful. I know ours has certainly been growing over the years!
That’s wonderful you bought a skirt for your daughter, Kim is going to be so happy about that! 🙂
