Yesterday it poured. Last night it poured. I loved the sound of the rain on the roof and the feeling of being cozy inside.
But then this morning it was still pouring and my feet were itching to go outside. I was feeling some serious stir crazy cabin fever! So when the rain stopped, I knew we were being given a wonderful opportunity to seize the moment. I put Bracken in the carrier, we went down to feed the goats, and then headed up the mountain for a quick hike. Towards the top, the path was really overgrown and I wondered when is the last time I was up here? Honestly, I don’t know. But I can say, it’s been far too long! That hike is so good for my well being. Bracken loves looking around at the forest and the mountain views. The dogs appreciated the exercise. It was a very good thing and made me grateful that I went when I did because as soon as we got back home, it started pouring again.
Above is Bracken in the pack on my belly, with some garden veggies in the background. Those curious eyes watch everything.
The forecast for tomorrow looks like a whole lotta rain and thundershowers, so we decided not to sell at market. Jeff wants to create in his workshop instead! I’m planning on going to farmer’s market still because I gotta get our veggies!
What are your weekend plans?
Hope it’s lovely!

Those things are the best! Glad you got your hike in. I know just what you mean. It has been pouring here too, and yesterday was crazy! Sun, pour, sun, pour, but this morning, right when I got out of bed, the sun came out and stayed out ALL DAY! We were shocked (forecast definitely said otherwise), and super grateful. After finishing up some orders, I spent the whole day out working in the garden. Man it felt RADICAL. Kind of like your hike, I thought, when was the last time I did this?? I don’t think I will be able to have full days away from work all weekend, but I plan to keep a bit of balance of outdoor indoor. And Taryn, your veggies are huge compared to ours right now!

I’m afraid it’s going to be raining all weekend here where we are in Ontario…I am just itching to do a bit of gardening but it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. My yard is just mud, mud, mud. 🙁

Wish we could have some of your rain! I bet your walk was so lush and beautiful.
Today I am visiting a friend and tomorrow taking Rosie to an athletics day (if she wants to go, she hasn’t made her mind up yet between that or staying up late the night before to watch a football match !) If we don’t go to the athletics I think a trip to the coast may be in order.
Much love to you Taryn.
