Here’s my gratitude list from Saturday:
-Bracken sporting his very first hair trim (because his bangs were starting to get in his face.) His trim was so endearing, I couldn’t stop smiling whenever I looked at him.
-Set up being the fastest and smoothest it’s ever been. How wonderful!
-Getting pictures of our market booth before the camera battery died.
-Marimba music on the stage in the morning and other fun music throughout the day.
-Discovering a new booth selling raw, probiotic kombucha at the farmer’s market. Jeff and I were just saying that someone should sell kombucha at market and that they would make so much money if they did. (I also learned that they will be selling raw juices, including veggie juices, and I’m so excited.)
-Jeff being really understanding and sweet when I accidentally broke a piece of art when it fell during setup. I felt terrible about it and appreciated his reaction so much.
-Fresh strawberries at farmer’s market for the first time this year. I’ve been craving fresh, local fruit and they tasted sooo good!
-Lunch from the ‘Field to Table’ booth at farmer’s market. Local pork belly, chard, onions, cauliflowers…. mmm! They buy their ingredients from local farms, change the menu each week, and sometimes make us special combos when there are certain things we can’t eat.
-Offers for some wonderful trades. Bracken fell asleep on me and I didn’t get out much the later part of the day (so I didn’t get a chance to trade), but look forward to doing so at upcoming markets.
-Moments throughout the day where Jeff and I caught each other’s eye, in awe and marveling at Bracken. He delights us every day, his presence is such a gift.
-Hearing a (beautifully handmade, wooden) mountain dulcimer being played for the first time. I loved the sound and it looked like a lot of fun to play. I’m always curious about new instruments.
-Meeting new friends. Gratitude for connection and all the love people shared with us.
-Being able to have our Etsy Shop open on a Saturday because we discovered that Jeff got internet on his new laptop computer, so we could take items off our online store as they sold at market. (That’s another magical story from last week. Jeff’s computer died. We weren’t sure how we would be able to afford a new one. I happened to mention it to our friends who told us about a place in Eugene called Next Step that sells refurbished computers. We got Jeff a refurbished laptop that is awesome for a great deal!)
-Glorious sights at farmer’s market. New additions each week are so exciting!
-Sweet, crunchy spring carrots at farmer’s market for the first time this year. We love snacking on them. (Wow, I seem to have food on my list a lot, huh?)
-Moments of warm sunshine.
-A bowl of carrot, coconut milk, ginger soup (from the ‘T.R.E.E.’ booth in the food court) to warm us right up.
-Our friend Lara coming at the end of the day, helping us pack up and taking a few family pictures of us with her camera. Usually it’s Jeff or I taking the picture, so getting pictures with the three of us is a real treat.
Have you written a gratitude list recently?

Trish- I wish you could visit us too! That would be so fun!
Thanks. 🙂
That would be awesome if you opened a stall selling homemade soups. I bet it would be really popular and it would be a huge blessing to your community to provide healthy food.
Jackee- Thanks so much for your comment! I am so glad that you found my blog and I’m so grateful that you are enjoying it. That means the world to me.
Thank you! 🙂

My husband and I came across your blog one day last week. We are hooked. We live in Pennsylvania and most likely will not be able to come to the Saturday market ( which sounds like a little bit of heaven) but we greatly admire what your little family is doing and are so glad we can read about it. Your child is amazingly gorgeous by the way. There is this great intelligence shining through his eyes. Just wanted to say thank you for all the posts.

I love to hear about your days at market. It sounds wonderful. I so wish I could visit you there!
Brackens sweet haircut, how adorable does he look!
I really love the sound of carrot, coconut milk and ginger soup. in England we really do not have places selling such lovely food. At markets all you often get is hot dogs, burgers and chips. I often think I would love to set up a stall selling wholesome, fresh homemade soups.
Much Love to you
Trish
