Lessons. Life is full of lessons, all the time. Yesterday I told Jeff that I needed ‘Computer Anger Management’ classes. Gotta laugh about frustrations when you start getting overly serious, right? During my crazy computer frustrations lately, my brain says “this is driving me nuts!” and my heart says “take a break”, “breathe deeply”, “lighten up and joke about it.” And really, it has been so absurd, it’s comical.
See, I’m not a very computer-savvy person in the first place, then when you put on top of that a dinosaur computer and some crazy html (uh..what?) that were making all my blog posts suddenly disappear, and taking time amidst busy life to answer comments only to have them deleted, plus a long list of craziness…. well, that lead to the comment in the third sentence above. When you have a lot to do and something that should only take a few minutes ends up taking hours, patience can feel like a challenge.
I am learning. I have to remind myself that I will not suddenly be a computer expert overnight. And if I learn something, I might have to learn it over and over until it sinks in. But it will sink in eventually.
This week’s lesson is that we can’t hurry our lessons.
Jeff is frustrated that his body still needs more time to rest and recuperate, so he’s been falling behind and hasn’t been able to create in his workshop. He wants to feel better now. Lately, I’ve been wanting my computer to cooperate right then. We want to buzz around like busy spring bees, getting it all done easily and smoothly.
Both of us are learning to be patient. And we know patience is a good thing to cultivate. Sometimes life forces us to slow down and we can either struggle as we can fight against it or just surrender and go with the flow. There are always gifts to be found in our lessons. I’m envisioning Yoda saying “Paaattiieennccee Taarrryyynn” and it makes me laugh. I think that will help me be more patient today.

I can totally identify! With both of those frustrations. Our minds can be so hard on us sometimes…deciding that “what is” is wrong. Learning to let go of that is a lesson I’m still, still, still learning!!!!! 🙂 And probably always will be…!

And thank you! 🙂
Aja- I love the quote and then I said it in a yoda voice (in my head because Bracken is sleeping) and it was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh! 🙂

I hear you sister – but Haha! I keep saying things in a yoda voice now. I love the quote soulemama posted today: “Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” ~ Lao Tzu
But its even better when I say it in my yoda voice 🙂
