Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Bright yellow fennel going to seed in the garden. Flowering fennel is so beautiful!
–
-Becoming less of who I think I “should” be and more of who I really am.
–
-Our neighbors calling us on Sunday and offering us a deal (which they sometimes do at the very end of their season.) They invited us to pick blueberries and keep half of what we pick for free! That way, they get berries put away for themselves and for freezing to sell to customers in the winter (they needed some serious help picking.) We picked almost every day last week. We had late afternoon picks, evening picks, morning picks…. we felt very grateful as the freezer, pantry (and our bellies) filled up.
–
-Starting a new gratitude journal. What is it about starting a brand new journal that is so exciting?
–
-Getting the asparagus bed weeded. The entire garden needs to be weeded, but at least I got one spot done. That felt good.
–
-Surrendering to a few sweet naps. Oh lord, heavenly!
–
-Adding new things to our Etsy Shop, which always makes me happy.
–
-Discovering that I LOVE zucchini in soup. It’s funny that I had never put it in soup before.
–
-Waking up one night to see heat lightning. It was so beautiful, completely illuminating the sky.
–
-Sunflowers opening, garden harvests and being outside so much.

We had a very full week. I’m a little late writing this post today. We harvested blueberries this morning, took a much needed family nap, and then I chatted with family on the phone. Now I’m in pajamas, listening to the wind outside, nursing Bracken and writing this with my free hand. I’m breathing deeply and feeling very grateful.
What are you appreciating from your week?

This week I am grateful for talented artisans who craft beautiful necklaces with lapis cats to wear around your neck. I’m grateful for their skills and artistic talent. I’m grateful for new friends that send a beautiful, unexpected gift of ‘joy’ to put on the refrigerator door and see every day and be thankful for their generosity and caring. I’m most grateful this week for a good attorney who helped my daughter get full custody of her children in a terrible divorce battle so her children will always be safe with her. I’m grateful for children, grandchildren, kitty cats and new friends.

Dear Taryn,
what a wonderful, full week you had!
How big is your refrigerator?
Or do you have several?:)
Much greetings to you!!

Hi Taryn!!
Love your list, and it sounds so cozy to be in PJs on a blustery Sunday night!! It was a hot, 90 degree day here so I’m still in tank top & shorts, but the clouds moved in to cool the air, so there’s a very pleasant little breeze coming through the windows as I type this.
Oooo, that’s a powerful one — becoming less of who you think you should be and more of who you actually are…wow. That’s one for me to remember — good on ya!
Your blueberry picking sounds great, and exhausting too. But all those free blueberries! Woah!
It feels good to get the “have-to” stuff done, doesn’t it, like weeding and doing etsy stuff. Good feeling of accomplishment if nothing else!
Don’t you love being outside so much! I could just live outside. I can’t wait till fall, where it’s not so bloody hot and I can be outside much more!
Here’s my list this week:

LOTS of love!
