Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-The beauty of the garden during all it’s phases. The sunflowers are still so beautiful when they are soggy, droopy, and dripping with heavy rain.
–
-Cozy things that come along with this season- being inside on rainy days, the warmth of the woodstove, and the comfort of nourishing soups. And somehow pajamas feel even cozier this time of year.
–
-The way Bracken claps. His joy and excitement are so contagious.
–
-Making progress on knitting Bracken’s birthday present. It felt so good to be knitting again. One night after Bracken fell asleep, I knitted instead of my usual reading. I could hear the rain outside and Jeff eating sunflower seeds, while he read his book next to me. It was such a relaxing way to wind down before sleep.
–
-Technicolor rainy days that make everything look so surreal and beautiful.
–
-Bracken sharing all our meals with us and really enjoying and exploring the world of food, picking up each tiny morsel and putting it in his mouth. He is so insistent on feeding himself and it brings him such satisfaction. Then he reaches over to feed us, which is so darn cute!
–
-Jeff putting up a new banner on our Etsy Shop. We had fun creating it together and it’s so nice to have a fresh look. Change is good.
–
-Remembering that my days flow so much more smoothly when I breathe deeply and tune inward for guidance, rather than outward.
–
-Using our magical healing salve when Bracken scraped his toe and having it help heal it right up. Then using it on a bug bite and having the itch immediately vanish. We are really loving and enjoying our salve! We made progress on getting the next salve ready, which felt good too.
–
-Jeff capsuling up some dried liver powder, from grass-fed cows. I know how good liver is for us, but honestly, we rarely eat it, even though our bodies love it. I started taking some liver capsules each day last week and it was amazing how energized they made me and how much of a difference I could tell from such a small amount. Capsuling it up ourselves saves lots of money.
–
-Little things. Like how adorable it looks when Bracken’s tiny socks start sliding off his feet and he has these long floppy socks way past his toes. But he wants to go go go, rather than have mama get the socks back on right. That makes me laugh.
–
-Making things fun that we weren’t looking forward to. We went to the laundromat to wash our clothes. While we waited, we sat in the parking lot, on the tailgate of our truck, in the warm sunshine, and ate fruit. It made the whole experience fun.
–
-Coming across ‘Little House in the Ozarks’ by Laura Ingalls Wilder, at the library. It’s so nice to discover more of her writing.
–
-Opening jars in the pantry and already enjoying the fruits of our labor from not long ago.
–
-Our neighbor helping Jeff move the freezer from the pantry to the garage, and getting the old broken washing machine hauled out. That sure opened up the pantry! Now we have more room for shelves and organizing. And the freezer was making it too warm to store food well, so now the pantry will be much better for food storage.
–
-Cleaning, tidying, and organizing around the house. Progress feels good.
–
-Feeling like we are on the flow again. We had a few weeks of feeling really stuck and it’s a relief to feel like we are moving again!

Hi Taryn!
Happy Sunday.
Your list struck a particular chord this week…what a wonderful collection of gratitudes. 🙂 And what a smile it brought 🙂
I love how you’re knitting Bracken a birthday present, that’s so cool! I’m so glad this week you’re feeling more like usual, back into the flow. Me too. Feeling mired down does provide perspective…it feels so good to get back to normal! Hope you guys are feeling better physically, too.
Where do you get your powdered liver?
Here’s my list this week:
