If you would like to join us, share your gratitudes by leaving your link (or simply sharing your list, whether one or many) in the comments below for all of us to enjoy. Our gratefulness feeds one another.
-The garden looking much better after all the cleaning up we did. It felt great to stand back and admire all the progress we made.
–
-Eating delicious butternut squash from our garden.
–
-Some gorgeous, sunny October days.
–
-Jeff attaching a piece of wood across the top of the front door. There was a cold draft that always blew in there. It was a small thing that made a big difference. Especially appreciated with the chillier weather coming.
–
-A birthday gift from Bracken’s Grandma that changed our life- a gate that blocks off the entire woodstove area. With a few other gates, that made for the entire living room for Bracken to explore (without us needing to keep him away from so many areas.) He loved it and we got to relax a lot more.
–
-Two days where we had lamb (from Deck Family Farm) with our meals. Lamb is our very favorite meat and it feels like a rare and special treat every time we eat it.
–
-Lots of laundry done. (Yes, I’m still feeling grateful for that washing machine!)
–
-Accomplishing big goals that seemed a little intimidating and I had no idea how we would do them, but we did!
–
-Adoring Bracken’s smile with his two front teeth!
–
-Jeff getting electricity hooked up in his outdoor workshop. He made so much progress out there.
–
-Rocking and rolling in the workshop! Getting so much done. It felt great! Jeff and I had a lot of motivation and enthusiasm. We get so happy and excited when we are creating. We posted new things on our Etsy Shop and have so many more new creations to post still.
–
-More baby-proofing = more relaxing.
–
-Trimming Bracken’s hair. It can be quite challenging to keep him distracted so I can do it, so I feel proud when I get it done. It tends to end up shorter than I plan, since I have to keep cutting to even it out, but was cute nonetheless. Jeff joked that if we shaved a circle on his head he would look just like St. Francis of Assisi. That made me laugh. (The applesauce post shows him before haircut, today’s post and this moment show him after haircut.)
–
-Jeff starting the fire every morning. It’s amazing how it transforms our home into such a cozy space. There are so many things that Jeff does each and every day, that I like to remember to be grateful for and not take for granted.
–
-A powerful dream where I felt like a snake shedding it’s old skin.
–
-Seeing some of our yew wood buttons on one of my favorite blogs, SouleMama. That delightful surprise made my heart really happy!
–
-Watching Bracken practicing his “new moves.” He stood while holding onto things. Then he practiced holding on with just one hand. Then no hands while leaning against something. He looks over at us, so proud of himself and we cheer him on. It’s so fun.
–
-Huckleberries in our yard. A nice treat to snack on every time we go outside.
–
-Feeling so much help every time I remember to ask for it.
–
-Singing along to music. Listening to music always brightens our day.
–
-A marvelous quote: “We are usually so busily longing for things we can’t have that we overlook what we have in their place that is even more worthwhile.” -Laura Ingalls Wilder
–
-For all the friends who joined in Gratitude Sunday last week. Lindsey from Herbangardener, Trish from Soul Soup Sister, Heike from Where The Wild Strawberries Grow, April from Pleasure in the Pathless Woods and Aja from Moon Woman Rising. Thank you all! (Were there any others I missed? Feel free to leave your link in the comments.) Reading lists of gratitude is like medicine for the heart. When I see what others are grateful for, I’m reminded of how much we have in common.
–
-For each and every one of you who reads this blog! I’m grateful.
