We had a very full three days at our first weekend at Holiday Market. I took pictures to share our booth with you (as we were so excited about our set up!), but as I looked through them, I saw that they were almost all blurry. I will bring my camera again next week and take more.
This picture of our buttons turned out though. The wooden containers the buttons are in was a thrift store score. They couldn’t be more perfect! They make it easy to flip through the cards. On the left is a picture of handmade hemp overalls with our sassafras buttons, from Sara of Farmama blog. (She gave us permission to use her photo for our display and we were so grateful.) On the right is a picture I took of some of our yew wood buttons. We wrote ‘Great Gifts for Knitters, Sewers, and Crafters.’ I had a feeling it would be good to have that written on a sign and it was! People would read it and say “Hey, my sister is a knitter! This will be the perfect gift for her!” We were thrilled.

There was so much to see at the market. I noticed that I gravitated towards the wood, wool, clay and hemp. I enjoyed seeing wood boxes, toys, instruments, bowls, plates, and baskets! I drooled over handspun wool yarn (that was dyed in gorgeous colors with herbs from their garden), and handwoven baskets of all shapes and sizes (can one ever have too many baskets?)
One could spend days going from booth to booth at the Holiday Market admiring all the handmade goods. The creativity is truly amazing and so inspiring! And as if that wasn’t enough, there was farmer’s market next door. Just seeing the colorful produce made my heart swell.
If you are a local, I highly recommend visiting.
And now, back to the workshop! It feels good to be home and we have lots more creating to do for next weekend!
