In the post on SouleMama blog yesterday, Amanda talked about making homemade gifts for each other and referred to it as “elving.” She said “I do believe the elving has begun!”
When I saw that I almost laughed out loud (but Bracken was napping and I didn’t want to wake him, so I refrained.) We refer to ourselves as elves all the time and especially this time of year. We love making homemade gifts for family and friends, but we also fill up our booth and Etsy Shop with them. That’s a whole lot of elving going on! When we meet someone for the first time and they ask what we do, Jeff likes to say “we make gifts for people.” And that’s how we like to think of it. Each and every hand-crafted creation is going out into the world to bless someone. We truly love what we do and are so grateful to be able to. Of course, some days our “on” switch gets stuck and we work ourselves to exhaustion (the balance of our home business and homestead life can be tricky), but we can’t imagine a job we’d love more.
Right now is a very busy time in our home. We are down to the final days of preparing for Holiday Market. Making, making, creating, and creating some more…. basically,
lots of Elving is happening in this house!

Denise- Jeff has carved broom handles before and our local broom maker friend has put the broom part on the end. We do not have any currently available. We could always do a custom order for you. With all the time Jeff puts into them, it’s hard to keep the price down.
Our local broom maker friend has an Etsy shop. Here’s the link:
