You know how much we love seeing what creative things you make using our handmade buttons!
Recently our friend Sheila told us about the handwoven cedar bark hat she made and sent us pictures. This weekend we got to see it in person when she wore it to market. I snapped these pictures to share with you.
She adorned her handmade hat with a button Jeff made in some local scotchbroom wood (an invasive species around here and wonderful for buttons) with a carved tree on it.
Her hat is so fun!
Oh yes, and the lovely Sheila was wearing her Mystic Orb necklace and earrings too, (with Tiger Eye stones in carved Oregon Myrtlewood.)
Thanks for sharing Sheila!
.
Next week I want to take some pictures to share with you, of the amazing children’s jackets and clothes that our friend Kim sewed and adorned with some of our handmade sassafras buttons.
There is lots of fun to be had with buttons!

Wow, that’s such a beautiful hat! My stepmom is from the Makah and Lummi nations, and she makes hats a lot like that. Someday I’ve got to get one, or learn to make one. It looks especially nice with your button on there! 🙂
