As you may have guessed from the previous post, we’ve been without a working vehicle since last Friday. What’s the latest on the truck? It needs a new transmission. We had been hoping for something less expensive. Oh well! This morning Jeff said to me, “we need to have a we-need-a-new-transmission-sale on our shop.” Great idea!
So if you’ve been eyeing something in the shop or you want a special handmade gift for someone, just enter the coupon code: NEWTRANNY and get 20% off your order! (Good till Wednesday evening.) You’ll be contributing to our family getting “back on our wheels.”
So, in the meantime, we’ve been at home and we’ve been getting so much created. Above is our booth set up in the middle of our living room. It’s somewhat in dissaray as many projects are taking place in there right now (but I wanted you to see it so I took a picture anyway.)
What have we been up to?
I’ve been making lots of earring cards. (I know I’ve shown this process before.) First Jeff drills two small holes in a stack of our business cards. Then I fold them in half.
I use the hand-carved stamp Jeff made and stamp each one.
I love how the stamp looks different on each one. And it feels good when I get a nice big stack made!
Why making so many? We have a bunch of $12 earrings in reclaimed woods that we’ve been making for the holidays. All different sizes, shapes, and woods, so we’re going to need a lot of those earring cards.
We’ve also been making new buttons. Jeff brings me slices of wood. I use templates and mark circles and ovals on each piece (the branches he just slices), he cuts them out, he sands them, I dry them, he oils and polishes them, I tie them each on cards, photograph them, and then post them on our Shop. (I just photographed 15 more sets this morning that I need to post in the shop.) We hand things back and forth, creating a beautiful flow of productivity.
Jeff made more Magical Healing Salve this week. I put labels on all of them. We’re still getting the printing of our labels figured out. Some print out a nice rich color and others have hardly any contrast (on the same settings.) Some are perfectly in the center and others aren’t. We’re learning.
Jeff has been carving some gorgeous tree pendants. I’ve been hand drawing more magnets and Jeff has been designing some on the computer (he’s not very fond of his handwriting.)
Basically, we are stocking up.
Stocking up our booth for Holiday Market and stocking up our Etsy Shop.
I’ve taken so many pictures, time to get back to posting new creations in the shop!
.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
