We went to the post office and bank this morning, in the nearby town of Mapleton. Riverview Road was flooded and many people’s yards were flooded along the river to our house. The river looked wild with mighty rapids, unlike it’s usual serene flow. We saw large logs floating down the river and a barrel or two. Jeff said he wanted to go where the river meets the ocean, when the flooding is over, to gather firewood and look for wood to carve. A treasure hunt. But for now, we’re glad we are situated a little ways up the mountain, out of reach of that river.

That river looks very ominous! Yikes. I’m so glad your house is out of its reach. The treasure hunt to find wood sounds SOOO FUN! I dearly wish I could join you for that outing 🙂 🙂
Lots of love to you!

I’m glad you’re high and dry and hope you find some treasures when it dries up again. Happy New Year!

It was unheard of until about 8 years ago. It’s becoming the norm now.
