Our little tree went up this week.
To give you an idea of just how tiny our tree is… Bracken is taller than it (that’s including the pot it’s planted in.) I was happy to find that we had a star ornament lightweight enough to go on the top.
Most ornaments were too heavy for the small branches, but I found a branch strong enough to hold up one of my very favorite ornaments (one my sister Samantha made for me, with the help of our Grandpa Baker, when we were kids.)
A few other decorations went up, like this holly fairy that comes out every year, but we kept things simple.
Next to the tree go handwritten notes and Holiday cards. We love those.
And I’m loving my mom’s Holiday card this year, with her beloved dog Ole. The joy in her face makes me smile.

Some more greenery in our home is such a welcome sight.

We haven’t decorated yet, we wait till after my Rosie’s birthday. She is 12 tomorrow.
