I took more pictures last weekend to share our booth with you. I got a few that were alright. With the lighting in there, taking good photos are tricky. But here is a little peek for you to see.
.
Our Mystic Orb sign, we got for free online (Awesome!) and then Jeff built a wood frame for it. We’ve had comments from people missing our old handcarved wooden sign. We do too, but after it was never to be found again, Jeff was going to carve a new one for our booth in time for Holiday Market, but we decided to spend our time filling up the inside of our booth instead, since creating a new sign would have been a very time consuming project. This sign works well for now.
Sometimes people are walking past and don’t want to come inside the booth, but want to browse from the outside. So this year, we put a display of $12 magnets (yep, we’re using one of those thrift store pizza pans again!) on the front right of our booth and $12 earrings on the front left. (The buttons are also easy to browse through without coming inside the booth.) We’re so glad we decided to do that.
I thought the $12 magnets would be selling like crazy, but they haven’t yet. Maybe their time is yet to come. I’ve been wondering about new ways to display them.
We are constantly experimenting with how to display and set everything all up.
And we’re also learning how to bring our creations to and fro. The first weekend, Jeff wanted to take everything off of our boards for traveling. I thought it would be easier to leave them on and we did that method. It was raining and even with covering everything as best we could, the earring cards (with those beautiful stamps, remember?) got warped and some got slightly smeared. So this past weekend, we took everything off the boards and it worked much better. Packing things in water-proof containers for traveling is wise (we live in rainy Oregon after all!) and I laughed at how many years it took us to start doing that.
When the crowds slow down, we look around our booth and wonder… what can we change? How can we make it better? We are always wanting to improve our display and we’re always full of ideas.

I absolutely LOVE your booth! I actually think back to when I first started going to market (before I even read your blog), I was always very drawn to your booth. I love the natural, inviting appeal, just lovely. And of course now that I know you it’s even more reason spend time there!
I enjoyed seeing you at market on Sunday – so nice to finally catch up in person. Baby liked meeting you as well 🙂

Beautiful! And so organized 🙂 I used to do art shows when I made jewelry and bath products to sell – it was so fun! But it took my while to learn the whole organization side – like how certain ways packing up, etc. can make your life so much easier!! I love the magnets, they are beautiful – but my fridge isn’t magnetic (and thus, very boring!) Good luck on your sales and spreading your Mystic Orb goodness!

Your booth looks so wonderful! Thanks for sharing pictures. How I wish I could visit that Holiday Market of yours, with all that handmade homegrown goodness. Unfortunately, we’re a few thousand miles away in Kentucky, but some day I tell ya, someday I’m gonna visit that booth of yours! We don’t have markets like this in our area, just a small farmers market every other Saturday in the summer and fall. But we love growing a garden so that helps. We actually ended up with 89 quarts of canned green beans this year… our most yet. I do love my green beans…LOL!
