Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Music playing in our home all week long. (Love Pandora Radio!) It helped inspire lots of cleaning and organizing, which was fantastic! It inspired dancing too, which was nice to keep our bodies moving when we were indoors on rainy days.
.
-Giving myself the gift of early bedtimes and relaxing, quiet reading time prior to soothe me to a peaceful sleep.
.
-Our house feeling so much better as we got rid of stuff and rearranged. And getting our work spaces clear will make it so much easier to create!
.
-Creative time for me during Bracken’s naps. So often, I take advantage of Bracken’s daily nap to accomplish tasks. But honestly, sometimes I need the time to regenerate myself. Throughout the week I had a wonderful balance. One day I got computer work done, the next I had “play time” and worked on a wooly creature, then switched back and forth every other day. The work time got things accomplished, the creating time regenerating me and fed my Spirit.
.
-Bracken learning how to use a straw for the first time. His eyes lit up with his new discovery. He was so excited and loved sharing mama’s raw veggie drink, as a special treat during a town trip.
.
-Two pairs of pants from the thrift store that were on sale and fit perfectly. Yay! It feels good to be comfortable and have clothes that fit right.
.
-Finding a new rhythm in our days. Still getting a lot done each day, but not needing to “hurry” now that Holiday Market is over. I love that. Feels like we have more space to breathe.
.
-Seeing Jeff put extra energy into making a delicious meal, when he went out in the rain to harvest fresh parsley in the garden. It made the chicken so yummy.
.
-Feeling so much inspiration for things we want to make for our business.
.
-Knowing that our friends in Connecticut are safe, after a tree fell on their house during a storm.
.
-Quiet moments at night, with the three of us just being together, where my heart filled up so big. One night our living room was so warm from the woodstove, it felt like a sauna. We opened the windows and a cool, refreshing breeze came rushing in from the storm outside. The sound of the rain pouring outside was so loud. Something about the moment just felt right and special.
.
-Starting my new planner for 2012! I really love having a planner, I use it every day. And starting a brand new one is such a treat. I actually look forward to it every year, which makes me laugh because it sounds rather silly, but it’s so true!
.
-A braid for easy hair management.
.
-Wearing pajamas as I please.
.
-Being proud of my mom for being so brave and following her heart so strongly.
.
-Looking at ‘The Unforgettable Kiss’ by Shanna Trumbly, on our living room wall all week. It brought us all joy and we felt it was such a blessing in our home.
.
-Looking at my sock drawer and realizing I can use all my old socks with holes in them for rags (which was literally every pair I owned except for one), now that I have so many new socks from Holiday gifts.
.
-Appreciating the “treats” I gave myself with the Holiday money from my grandma and mom. Some books I’ve had on my wish list for a long time, a new planner, and some gorgeous local wool yarn just begging to be knitted into something special.
.
-A break in the rain to get pictures for Etsy yesterday. Then even better than a break in the rain today- glorious sunshine! I got more pictures taken and the sun was so warm on my face, it didn’t feel like winter at all.
.
-Looking over at Bracken taking his nap while I write this. I love the expression on his face (with his curious eyes and huge smile) when he looks at me each day as he wakes up from his nap.

Happy New Year to you Taryn and your beautiful little family.
I ‘found’ you about six months ago and you have become so dear. Your writing is lovely. How different our lives are, yet in so many ways I am the same.
I hope the new year brings you joy, happiness, good health and abundance. I look forward to enjoying all this with you.
Blessings from Oz 🙂
P.S. Isn’t that feeling of bursting at the seams with love being so captivated by our precious little people just the best!!!

Happy New Year!
I like your way of posting what you are grateful for- it does change one’s outlook on life so I am going to have to make a habit of it myself.
I’m grateful for-
Blogs. To me they are wonderful biographies, people often living very different lives from mine. I find myself cheering when things go well and wondering, What adventures will come next?
The desert in winter. I’ve never been a fan of cold weather. True, the heat of the southwest can be miserable in summer, but I do love our December days when I can open the windows and fresh air comes wafting in. There will never be canister of spray or a candle in the mall (and I don’t like those things one bit) that will ever come close to the truly good smell of the outdoors.
Family. I miss my grown daughter so much. And she has been here for over a week. It’s been wonderful.
Christmas lights. I don’t do much for the holiday, really. But I like having lights.
Solar panels. We have full solar now and I feel much better about the electricity we use.
I love your beautiful blog and I love reading about the darling little fellow you and your husband are raising.

Sweet list! Seems like some nice balancing-out is happening now that Christmas is over & Holiday Market is over for you guys! I’ve felt that too — like we can really move foreward now.
Awesome to hear of your cleaning and organizing! Doesn’t that feel GREAT!!! I love it.
Loved hearing of your balance of work time and creative play time during Bracken’s naps. Good job for giving yourself the attention and nurturance you most certainly need…as a person, and especially as a mama!
So glad to hear you don’t have to rush through your days with a deadline now that market is over. That can be really stressful.
I loved reading about your quiet moment where your house was warm (a warm house is so much homier isn’t it!), and the rain was pouring outside. Those are the kind of moments I live for too.
Ooo, a planner. Now there’s a nice thought – I might have to get one! I like that idea.
I got socks for Christmas too! They’re always on my list each year since I seem to need them yearly, ha! It’s nice to wear ones without holes ehh! 😉 I know…
Glad you got to treat yourself to some extras with holiday money. You totally deserve it!
