Back in 2009, I opened two Etsy Shops, other than our Mystic Orb shop. One was called ‘Wooly Moss Roots’ for my needle-felted wool creatures (a space to nurture my love of wool and all things wooly) and one was called ‘Taryn’s Play Room’ for my drawings, illustrations, and greeting cards (a space to inspire my love for bright vibrant colors and an outlet for my inner child.)
Well, life got busy. I was focusing on our homestead, the garden, animals (including milking goats), market, and the Mystic Orb shop that we already had going. Basically, I knew it wasn’t quite the time to get those other shops happening. So they waited quietly in the background.
.
Not long ago Jeff mentioned wanting to have a separate Etsy Shop, for all of our buttons and herbal salves. At first I thought that sounded a little confusing and having more than one shop sounded like a lot more work. But then the idea started to sink in and it felt right.
So we started posting new items in the Wooly Moss Roots shop that I started years ago. It’s feeling much more organized this way and we’re really excited! We are filling it up with handmade wood buttons and herbals salves. (Yes, I’m even working on some wool creatures! It feels so good to be making them again.) We have so many ideas of new things we want to add to both shops. With all the inspiration flowing in, we want to create it all right now, but know that
it’s all coming together in it’s time.
I’ve been taking lots of pictures and have been posting new items to both shops. There is so much that needs to be posted and when I feel overwhelmed, I remind myself “one step at a time.”
We are leaving one set of buttons and one salve on our Mystic Orb shop for awhile, so those going there to look for those items will be directed to their new home.
.
We are giving a free gift to the first five people to purchase something on our
(And all readers get 10% off when they use the coupon code: WOOLYMOSSROOTS at checkout.)
.
It’s a new year and we’re already feeling so many new beginnings.

Congratulations on creating a new shop!!! That’s great! And actually it’s really crazy because just within the last couple days, I was remembering back to when I started reading your blog, you had stuff in an etsy shop (I think??) and I was wondering if you were thinking of doing that again! Hehe! Here’s my answer!
I’m working on getting a bunch of stuff going for an etsy shop too… and you’re right, my gosh, there is a LOT to it! The idea for a shop has sat dormant while I’ve been so sick, but now that I’m beginning to feel glimmers of my normal self again, and the inspiration has been coming in floods (I’ve been nearly buzzing with excitement and inspiration – it’s incredible!), I’m ready to begin moving forward with that. I know what you mean about SO many ideas of things to make and sell!! (And wanting it all to happen right now.) 🙂
Cheers to your new shop! You’ve been a very busy bee!!!
Love
Lindsey
