Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-A trip to the library. We love the library. We’ve been happily reading before bed all week long, Jeff and I each finding books we’ve been hooked on.
.
-Earlier bedtimes. And reading a book I was enjoying so much, that I decided to for-go the earlier bedtime one night and keep it the “usual” time, so I could read just one more page.
.
-Watching Jeff and Bracken play catch with a crumpled up piece of paper. Bracken erupts in giggles that are quite contagious.
.
-A new favorite meal: scrambled egg yolks with celery, onions, and pork cracklin’s (from home-rendered lard.) Topped with raw sauerkraut. Yum!
.
-Bracken walking!! He’s been walking while holding onto something, for a long time now, but now he is officially walking and loving it. Sometimes he gets so excited he starts clapping his hands (which has made him lose his balance a time or two.)
.
-All the things Jeff got done around the yard, which brought some new inspirations for garden ideas.
.
-Wonderful, appreciative people supporting our family business.
.
-Driving on a new road I’d never seen before.
.
-Getting to know my way around Oregon a little better.
.
-Jeff getting a tool to trim our fruit trees for $14! (We’d really like a chainsaw on a stick, but those are out of the budget, so our inexpensive tool works for now.)
.
-Getting a hair brush with natural bristles, which I’ve been wanting for a long time. It feels like a scalp massage every time I use it!
.
-A rug for our kitchen that brightens up the whole room!
.
-Living close enough to Mountain Rose Herbs to be able to pick up our order and save on shipping.
.
-A meal topped with fresh cilantro.
.
-Bracken’s excitement over his discovery of turning the light switch on and off.
.
-Our friends April and Brad, having their baby this week. So happy for them. Welcome to the world Hazel!
.
-My heart filling up as I watched Jeff and Bracken sleep.
.
-Finding out that my uncle Dave has an abundance of wood that is one of our favorites for buttons! It grows on his property and happens to be an invasive species, so he is planning on removing some to send to us. We are so excited!
.
-The chainsaw working when we needed it to. (It doesn’t always.)
.
-Movement and fresh air. This time of year, I tend to be less active, so it felt great to be outside moving my body.
.
-Jeff bringing me a delicious meal when my blood sugar was really low and I was majorly in need of food.
.
-Skies full of stars and laying in bed, starring up at them, letting sleep find me.
.
-Seeing endearing little bits of moss in Bracken’s hair after our walk through the woods.

I cruise through these blogs and read and I fill up with this blissed out feeling of companionship. It also gives me a sense that the world is alright — if there are this many good people with good hearts, then we’re going to be ok.
Friends I’ve met and friends I haven’t — for all these, I’m quite thankful.

Thanks for the comments!
Lindsey, thanks for leaving the link, I loved your list as always! ๐
Robin- I got the brush at a local store called ‘Down To Earth’ located in Eugene. I’m sure there are many to be found online.

I would love to know what kind of brush you bought. I’ve wanted one for my hair, but didn’t think it’d work that great with long hair. Thanks.

I love your list!!!! I just love this weekly tradition ๐ and it’s so fun to hear what all you’ve been up to!
It sounds like Bracken adds so much joy to an already joyful household! What a blessing, and wow he is walking now!! Oh my GOSH! Incredible.
Mmmmm, that new favorite meal sounds SO good. I wish I could eat that right now! How nourishing!! The other day I had a new little invention that’s so good… cut up mushrooms and toss in some balsamic & red wine vinegar, along with some raw soy sauce. Let them marinate for a few hours. Then toss it all into a saute pan, cook, and then top with raw sauerkraut. YUM!
That’s awesome you guys got so much done in your yard! What a feeling of accomplishment. Go Jeff!
Driving on new roads! It’s so invigorating isn’t it! I think I could use a dose of that… ๐
A new hair brush, the little pleasures in life, huh! ๐
Awesome you can pick up your Mtn Rose order. Their shipping is really expensive!
I love fresh cilantro. I think it’s one of the best deals around… $2 for so much fresh, bright deliciousness and nutrition! It just seems to bring a dish up a notch when topped with fresh cilantro! hehe.
Movement and fresh air! Cheers to that!
How awesome you can see stars from your bed! Wow.
Just love your list!
