Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-My body forcing me to slow down. My back was sore, so I had a few days where I didn’t carry Bracken much in the pack, like I usually do. It was inconvenient, but by letting my body rest I felt as good as new! I was so glad to have my back feeling back to normal and I’m grateful my body gives me messages to help me stay in balance.
.
-A surprise in the mail that really brightened our day.
.
-The trip to the grocery store being over. (Bracken threw a tantrum in the produce section, wanting to eat everything in sight. That wasn’t fun. Though I’m glad that, looking back, I can laugh about it now.)
.
-Kind comments on this blog that mean so much to me.
.
-Rain coming so we could get things done indoors (and not be tempted outside by that gorgeous sunshine.)
.
-Having a little bit of reclaimed black walnut wood to work with. It’s such a beautiful wood and I’m so excited about it.
.
-All of us dancing around the living room Michael Jackson-style (after watching some videos of him dancing in his early years.)
.
-The hot water working again after Jeff hit the reset button. (I was afraid we were going to need a new hot water heater- yikes.)
.
-How good it feels to get bills paid and crossed off the list.
.
-Jeff handing me a mug of ginger honey tea when I came downstairs in the morning. There was so much love in his simple gesture, like so many things he does every day.
.
-Being with Jeff and Bracken in the shop. I love spending time there, it’s a place where magic happens.
.
-The feeling of a warm sweater.
.
-Bracken putting on Jeff’s hats all week long. He loves doing that. It cracks us up, he looks so adorable with those over-sized hats, all big and floppy on his head (and sometimes covering his eyes altogether.)

.
-Comfort food. Jeff made an incredible batch of soup, that was the ultimate comfort food. It was so deeply nourishing.
.
-The three of us outside on an early morning, admiring the mist covered mountains while we gathered firewood to bring in the house.
.
-Finding Bracken’s shoe after it went missing during our outdoor adventures. Those little shoes can hide so well and I was so happy when I spotted it.
.
-Bracken holding a calculator up to his ear, like a telephone.
