Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-The refreshment that a bath (with epsom salts, a few drops of lavender essential oil, by candlelight) brings.
.
-Getting some firewood.
.
-Running errands in town and happening to go by the thrift store when there was a 50% off clothing sale. We found a few treasures and found out those sales only happen every so often, so we were happy to be at the right place at the right time.
.
-Working with some lovely lanolin-rich wool.
.
-The feeling of synchronicity.
.
-Enjoying learning so much about herbs while reading a book from the library by Rosemary Gladstar.
.
-A secondhand crock pot for a few bucks! (We needed a new one and this one is much bigger.) Jeff had a feeling there was some reason he should make a stop there, and he was right!
.
-Eating wild alaskan salmon. My body loves it and I feel so grateful every time we eat it.
.
-Leftovers for easy meals.
.
-Going to Deck Family Farm to pick some things up and getting incredible deals on some stewing chickens (which taste great when you cook them slow in the crock pot.)
.
-Seeing baby pigs while we were there. They were so incredibly cute.
.
-Jeff and I buying that herbal book (that I was reading from the library) for our family for Valentine’s Day. Now we won’t have to keep checking it out from the library. It’s a really good one to have on hand.
.
-Throwing out all our old phone books that had been accumulating in a drawer.
.
-Getting the truck unloaded before it started pouring.
.
-Lots of cleaning! It was wonderful to have movement and flow where it was stagnant before. And to have things fall into place. We are much more organized now and it feels great! Isn’t if fun to work really hard and then stand back and admire all you accomplished?
.
-Jeff setting up a wood cabinet for organizing all our herbs. We look at it lovingly and call it our apothecary.
.
-Sunshine and music giving much inspiration for cleaning, moving, and flowing.
.
-Seeing Bracken’s surprise as he awoke to see his grandma and great grandma!
.
-Walking to the library with my grandma by my side, holding the library bag she made for me when I was a little girl. I still use it.
.
-Bracken laughing and playing with his grandma and great grandma. Getting so much attention (he loves that!)
.
-Four generations together. That feels very special.
.
-Going to sleep at night with the feeling of such a full house. A nice feeling.
.
-Drinking herbal teas that calm and soothe me. Loving catnip and lemonbalm.
.
-Spending time with family. Living far away makes us treasure the visits even more.
.
-Seeing gorgeous sunny weather outside right now, as we prepare to leave for a beach day adventure! (After rain and hail yesterday, we are feeling thankful for this turn in the weather!) I am definitely ready for the ocean.

I am grateful that I got a moment to read your blog and hear all the wonderful things you are grateful for! I am also grateful for early nettles! And, I am grateful that I am coming through your way in early March, and maybe we can have a visit (I’ll get in touch to plan.) Love to you all!

Lovely list of goodness! I love Rosemary’s work, she is a wonderful herbalist. And lemon balm is hands down one of my favorite herbs. I drink it in tea and take it as tincture whenever my edges are a little frayed – its also very safe for children. Oh and speaking of catnip , did you know that smoking catnip gets rid of menstrual cramps SUPER fast? Its a little stinky, so sometimes doing it outside is better π sending love…

What a wonderful list….you are very very blessed! I think after Valentine’s Day, I’m feeling most grateful for having found the love of my life (I wrote about her in my blog the day after valentine’s Day).

As always, love your gratitude list. I too love salmon, and herbal teas. Do you have any particular herbal tea you’d recommend while breastfeeding?
