This morning we awoke to a dark sky and large snowflakes falling. We were very surprised to see snow. Then, looking out the window, there was a spot of bright yellow- another surprise- the first daffodil!
We went outside to get a closer look. Bracken was mesmerized, face skyward, trying to catch all the snowflakes with his quick hands.
…Then…
The sun came out and the snow starting melting just as quickly as it had come.
First daffodil of the year -just starting to open- what a cheery yellow you are!

Love the brightness of the daffodil, but envying your glorious snow – how beautiful it looked! So peaceful, like an earth blanket 🙂

Often times I read your posts (and other Oregon blog posts) about rain and snow and wonder why it didn’t make it down here, at least in rain form. It’s been such a dry winter. The driest since the 40’s! But I do love seeing your snow and your daffodils. Just posted about them in our yard today too!

Wish we had a little shot of spring time brightness poking through the snow here…sigh.
