Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-The joy that a single blooming flower can bring.
.
-Listening to the river and watching the sun sparkle on the surface.
.
-Laughing so hard when Jeff misheard me. I said something to him when he came out of his shop and he still had his earplugs in (that he wears while carving.) He looked at me with a confused look on his face and said “you made the chicken cross-eyed?”
.
-Having a warm home, thanks to Jeff bringing in the firewood every day and getting the fire started. (I don’t even remember the last time I started a fire in the woodstove, it’s been so long.)
.
-Fresh parsley from the garden to complete our meals and make them feel special.
.
-Bracken giving us sweet kisses.
.
-The sound of birds singing.
.
-Laughing about Bracken’s sudden favorite bracelet (also known as the orange scarf from his sock monkey.)
.
-Bringing all our recycling to the dump, which made for more room in the pantry.
.
-Bracken sleeping for longer stretches as he grows older.

.
-Learning to surrender and go with the flow when plans didn’t go exactly like I wanted them to.
.
-Laying out in the sun for the first time this year. I love feeling the sun on my skin long after being in it.
.
-And the first time being barefoot. The earth felt so good under my feet.
.
-Days growing longer. We’re enjoying having more hours of sunlight.
.
-Raw, fermented foods that give us Vitamin C (among so many other good things) in the winter, when we tend to eat less raw foods. I’ve been appreciating our homemade sauerkraut, pickles and fermented beets a lot lately.

.
-My mom calling just to say how much she loves me, that she’s proud of me and thinks I’m a good person. I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear that, until the warmth of her words lingered with me for hours afterward, like a blanket wrapped around me.
.
-Watching how much fun Bracken was having in the garden. We loved seeing him collect treasures and put them in his little blue garden bucket from his great grandma.
.
-More time outside, which we’ve all needed.
.
-Always being able to find something to be grateful for, even in the midst of grouchiness.
What is your heart grateful for from your week?
Has it been easy to count your blessings from the week or has the week been a little more challenging, where you have to dig a little deeper to find them?

Aahhh. Reading your gratitude is like getting a hug of love. I too am loving the signs of spring – birds, barefeet and longer days. I always love your lists because they include practical things that would make me happy too (more room in the cupboard!) and blessings of love from family and nature. Here’s to another week of blessings.

“You made the chicken cross-eyed?” This made me laugh out loud π

Like Carrie, I just want you to know what a bright positive spot you are in my Sunday routine! For someone so young, you have your priorities in line, your love is evident, and the way you honor others around you is rare in today’s youth! Aren’t mama’s wonderful to hear from? π Thanks again for such a wonderful blog.

I am grateful for having the sweetest, most wonderful, beautiful, caring wife on the Planet.

I look forward to your gratitude Sunday every week. You have inspired me to keep a gratitude journal. It makes such a positive difference in my life. Thank you so much for all you do.

What a nice list Taryn, as always. I love hearing what you’ve been up to, and so many times we have parallel gratitudes, it makes me smile. π Like this week, with being in the sun, being barefoot, more time outside, and having someone express to you the loving words and reassurance you needed to hear. And being grateful in the midst of grouchiness! π π
It feels so good that spring is so near, with all the nice weather. I love winter, but am ready now for nice weather and being out in nature more. It does feed the soul!
Sweet as always to hear of the little things Bracken delights in. What a sweetheart.
