Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Sights that make me happy: huckleberry buds, blueberry buds, lilac buds. All good things to come!
.
-New people. New places. New experiences.
.
-Seeing the ocean.
.
-Bracken’s delight over pulling up the couch cushion and finding toys he’d stashed there before.
.
-Writing to my grandma. I kept thinking I wanted to write her and I’m glad I finally sat down and did it.
.
-Steel wool. Jeff stuffed some in the hole some mice chewed through to get into our room. (It’s one thing to have a mouse in the attic, but it’s quite another to have one in our bedroom, eek!) The steel wool worked- hallelujah!
.
-The fresh air and clean feeling open windows bring in the home.
.
-Jeff planting some thyme plants in beautiful pots saying “just wait till it’s cascading down the sides…”
.
–Bracken’s naps. I appreciate quiet, uninterrupted time to focus and get things done, especially things that are much easier without little hands in the mix.
.
-Feeling so much more peaceful after cleaning the house. (Nothing stresses me out more than a chaotic house.)
.
-Deciding to be brave and change the layout on my blog. I love it! It’s funny to me now that I was afraid to do it.
.
-Seeing that our grape starts from last year have little buds on them, after they weren’t looking so good this winter and we were afraid they weren’t going to make it.
.
-Getting a new kombucha scoby from friends.
.
-Feeling better (much better than the combination of a head-achey mama and a fussy toddler.)
.
-Plant starts. We buy seeds and rarely buy plant starts, so it felt like a treat to get some starts.
.
-Our market booth still working after a piece broke while we were setting up yesterday. (Our market booth is a hand-me-down and we’ve been feeling it’s been needing to be replaced for awhile. That just spurred that project a little faster.)
.
-Some goodies from farmer’s market: duck eggs, morel mushrooms, chard, cilantro, collards, kale florets, salad greens, white elm mushrooms, hazelnuts. Love that good food.
.
-Deciding that today is going to be an “outdoor day.” There are so many things to get done around the place and there’s nothing I love more than spending the day outside with Jeff and Bracken.

Outdoor days are the best! π I also saw the ocean last week, always such a comforting sight. Your photos are really beautiful and I love the new blog layout, I love the space it provides! Oh and I just love thyme, I can’t recommend Thyme tea enough for colds.

Nice spring-time list!! Having a fresh house after having the windows open, especially if it’s a newly cleaned house, is just the best feeling!
The ocean! What good therapy π I went to the mountains today for a hike and that was really good therapy too. Nature, yay.
So cute how Bracken had stashed toys under the couch cushion and then forgot about them! Reminded me of a squirrel burying nuts under a tree π
Steel wool, yay! I think mice are really cute, but I do not like them in the house, chewing little holes in all our food!!! F stuffed all the little cracks with tin foil and that also worked like a charm; haven’t seen mice in a couple years now, since he did that.
Plant starts, haha, I know just what you mean about those feeling like a luxurious treat! All the work’s been done, hehe!
I’m glad you get some quiet time to yourself during Bracken’s naps, to regenerate and not have to worry about those little hands, hehe, cute as I’m sure they are! π π
I LOVE the new blog theme! It looks beautiful!!
I’m glad you’re feeling better; and adding a fussy toddler to the mix, oye.
That market food sounds fabulous, WOW!
Hope you had a wonderful outdoor day today!!! Thinking about you and sending you warm thoughts and hugs over the airwaves!!
LOVE to you,
Lindsey

Taryn, your gratitudes are beautiful, and so are your photographs.
Hope you enjoyed your “outdoor day” today. If the weather was anything like it was here I am sure you did… it has been glorious sunshine and the odd heavy shower and a short thunder storm ( which I always find very exciting!).
Much love to you all.
