Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Our “outdoor day” last Sunday. We organized the greenhouse, planted lots of seeds in trays, planted lots of starts in the ground, chose our new official mint bed (filled with wonderful varieties) and lemonbalm bed (in an attempt to keep it in one contained area.) Being outside for most of the day was wonderful.
.
-Jeff cloning elderberries. When we harvested elderberries last fall, I had a vision of planting a bunch of elderberries here and keeping them trimmed for easy harvesting. Jeff cloned our elderberry tree (that is on a hillside and difficult to harvest from) and we’re keeping our fingers crossed the starts will thrive.
.
-Harvesting lemonbalm for tea, nettles for the next meal, and ingredients (comfrey, plantain, and self-heal) for our next batch of salve, around the yard.
.
-Seeing that our catnip is coming back from last year. It’s one of our favorite herbs and we went through our stash of dried catnip quickly, so seeing more growing made us happy.
.
-Jeff pulling out the old tree stump from the herb bed and clearing trees that had fallen on our apple tree during a storm. Much better.
.
-All of us getting sunshine on our skin. Good medicine.
.
-Hanging clothes out on the line for the first time this year.
.
-Scrambled egg yolks with morels, cilantro and fresh-pressed garlic. Mmm.
.
-Open windows and the sound of the river.
.
-Sunny days to get a lot done outdoors, then rainy days to get a lot done indoors.
.
-Bracken covered in applesauce and generously offering to feed it to us with his fingers.
.
-Not feeling the need to explain myself when I didn’t want to.
.
-Watching Bracken having so much fun with his friend. They are so cute together.

.
-Watching a documentary called ‘The Vanishing of The Bees.’ I learned so much.
.
-Bracken kissing my “owie” and having it magically feel better. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
.
-Daily visits to the greenhouse and garden to see all the growth.
.
-Music for motivated mornings and happy dancing.
.
-A mug of magical chicken broth soup with herbs. Just the thing for my throat that was feeling a little sore.
.
-Being safe after a rather scary incident in a parking lot in town where some people approached our car as we unloaded groceries. My vibes said “danger! these people do not have good intentions!” They asked if our child was allowed to have candy, then seeing other people nearby must have decided there were too many people around and took off. We saw them parked in a corner, sitting in their vehicle and seeming to wait for people who were alone. We saw a cop on the way home and told him about it.
.
-Running into an old friend I hadn’t seen in years. She had been popping into my head so often. The way we ran into each other was so synchronistic and perfect, it felt like divine intervention.
.
-Appreciating moments with our family when my heart felt so full.
