{New jumbo size salve. More on that below}

We’ve been without internet since Monday night. They told us our lines were fine and we needed a new modem, so we went and bought a new modem. Our internet still didn’t work (but our modem was pretty old so it was probably a good thing we got a new one anyway.) This morning they fixed the switch in Mapleton (do I sound like I know what I’m talking about? because I don’t really) and we are back up and running again. Woohoo! We’ve had an incredibly productive week preparing for market tomorrow.
Thanks for your patience in awaiting the announcement of the giveaway winner. Congrats to Linda Gaylord! Linda, you won the carved tree pendant and essential oil perfume! (Will send you an e-mail today.) Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway. Jeff and I loved reading through your kind comments and words of encouragement, which helped spark our creative fire even more. When what we make is so appreciated, it inspires us to create more, so thank you. Sidenote about the comments: a few comments came through the old commenting system. So if you didn’t see your comment and you left one, that’s why. I included those entries also in the giveaway drawing, so don’t worry. I’m not sure why that happened, hoping it’s a glitch, but if it does it again, I’ll do some research so I can get it fixed.

We are going to be at market tomorrow!
Jeff fixed up our booth and boy, do we have a bunch of new stuff to fill it up! More magnets, inlay pendants, carved pendants, reclaimed wood earrings, garden signs carved in cedar…. and some brand new herbal goodness finished just in time to bring tomorrow.
We’re happy to introduce Blissful Baby Balm! This salve is wonderful, but Bracken’s smiley picture on the front makes me love it even more. I’ve been wanting to make a salve specially for babies. Originally, I thought we would make two baby balms, one specifically for bruises (and call it “Baby Bonk Balm”) and one for diaper rash, scrapes, etc. (and call it Blissful Baby Balm.) But then we came up with the recipe for this one and it turned out to be an all-in-one baby salve and we liked that much better. One salve for bonks, bruises, cuts, scrapes, burns, bug bites, diaper rash, and dry skin! And the smell? It’s subtle and sweet- beeswax and herbs- fragrant but not overpowering. This salve is powerfully healing, yet gentle for babies. We didn’t use any essential oils in this one, like our other salves, wanting it to be more gentle. It’s great to have on hand for babies, toddlers, and kids, and makes a wonderful gift at baby showers too.
It gets better. We’re offering Blissful Baby Balm in jumbo size too! It’s the best deal because it’s twice the amount of our regular size salve for much less than twice the price. (Soon we’ll be offering our Magical Healing Salve in jumbo size too.) We harvested most of the herbs for this salve in our garden and while we were infusing the oil with herbs in the kitchen, the most heavenly scent filled our home.
The ingredients in our Blissful Baby Balm are:
Coconut Oil*, Local Beeswax, Comfrey*, St.John’s Wort*, Calendula Flowers*, Chamomile Flowers*, Chickweed*, Myrrh Gum Powder (Wildharvested), Yarrow*, Plantain*, and Self-Heal*.
(* = organic)
Next thing we are excited about? Tinted Lip Balm!!! (Yes, that deserves three exclamation points.) We have been in love with our Peppermint Lip Balm, but I really wanted something with some color. First we tried using beet root powder without much luck.
For fun, I’ll show you what one of our experiments looked like. The beet root powder all sank to the bottom and didn’t blend very well. Not what we were looking for.
Finally we got our hands on some wildharvested alkanet root powder and it was just what we were looking for. (The “sweating” you see in the picture above happens sometimes when it gets warm and the essential oils sweat.) The color is so beautiful, like a gem- a ruby. When you put it on your lips, it’s the perfect amount of color, exactly what I was going for. We used the same recipe that we love, as our Peppermint Lip Balm, just with the added alkanet root powder.

Now, off to finish packing our truck for tomorrow. Locals, will we be seeing you there?

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
