Today I’m joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I am reading and knitting.
.
This book- ‘Love To Water My Soul’ by Jane Kirkpatrick- is borrowed from our dear friend Jolene, who recommended it to me. It’s the second book in the dreamcatcher series, (following the first I just read ‘A Sweetness To The Soul.’) The series is based on historical characters and events. Jane Kirkpatrick is an amazing writer. The way she describes the way people feel makes you relate to them so much. This story is about an abandoned white child rescued by Indians.
My knitting project is an inspiration that suddenly popped into my head. I’m making my very first finger puppet! The only knitting I do is during car rides and this was a nice, easy project for a car ride. I’m almost done with the first one and I plan on making many more. I’m knitting the part that goes around the finger and plan on needle-felting the heads for each one. This beautiful yarn came from our friends at Timberwolf Farm. Each skein tells the name of the sheep it came from. I love that! This one is the natural color, but they also have many skeins that they dye with plants from their garden. (Timberwolf Farm is at the Saturday Market also and Jeff and I have been asking Ingeborg about natural dyes because we are starting a dye garden here and she is an incredible source of information.)
What about you friends- any good reads? Any knitting projects?
