Before
This week I trimmed Bracken’s hair to keep his neck cooler on these hot summer days. We were growing his bangs out, so they would get to the point they could go behind his ears. I loved seeing his entire sweet face. However, lately they were at the length that were challenging. We were using water to continually keep those bangs out of his face. It never lasted long. I tried aloe vera gel out of curiosity, wondering if it worked like other “gel”? Nope. Then we had our beach day and it was so windy, there was no keeping those bangs out of his face. I knew they were no fun for Bracken that way.
‘That’s it‘, I thought, ‘time to trim those bangs!’
When we got home we did just that.
.
At some point I’m sure we’ll grow his bangs out, but now just wasn’t the time. Cutting his hair is always entertaining. Bracken doesn’t like to sit still long. I typically do the initial cut and then go back later to even things up. Yesterday, after his nap, we went outside to get some pictures of his new haircut. (Here you go, grandma.) I will say, it’s longer on one side than the other and needs more “evening up.”
After
(Still waking up)
Almost..
Starting to wake up.
At last, the fun spot: the pool.
I can see!
Bracken has really seemed happy with his new haircut.
And finally we come to…..
One of my favorite pictures of Bracken of all time! I really love this picture.

We’re getting things ready around here to head to market tomorrow. If you are a local, we’d love if you came by our booth (350) at the Eugene Saturday Market and said hello! We are not going to be at the Oregon Country Fair this year. If you are and you’d like to swing by market too and visit us, we’d love that.
