Today I’m joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I am knitting and reading.

I’m still knitting a simple cowl with the leftover yarn I had after the legwarmers. I was wondering if I was going to run out of yarn and thought that maybe I should have made it not so wide, but it looks like I’ll have enough. If not, I can always felt it, which I love to do, and turn it into something else.
I’m still reading ‘Stitch ‘N Bitch’ (and need to renew it from the library.) I read about the moss/seed stitch and am excited to give that a try. I know just the yarn I’ll do that with too.
It’s rainy today and has been all week. Believe it or not, Jeff actually started a fire in the woodstove this morning to take the chill off the house. Seems so funny for July, doesn’t it? I headed out during a break in the rain, when it was only lightly misting, to take pictures (above) for the Yarn Along.
But I did get some pictures on a recent sunny day of a knitted project that I finished, a wool clutch purse.
I had some beautiful handspun yarn from Woolgypsy. I was making a cowl, but ran out of yarn. I didn’t want to felt it because I loved the texture! So I decided to turn it into a purse instead. Jeff made the wood piece along the top out of reclaimed sassafras wood. Then he carved a spot for four strong magnets and glued them in. I love how the top goes together magnetically! We were going to add some sort of handle, but I liked it just like this, so left it as a clutch purse.
I love getting our shop and booth filled with wooly delights!
