Besides going to the Saturday Market, my mom had two other things she wanted to do while she was here: blueberry picking and going to the ocean. Yesterday started out overcast. When Bracken woke up from his nap and we headed out the door to go picking, the sun came out.
Bracken showed his grandma how it was done.

Cracking up.
Well, the weather was so gorgeous that we decided to head to the beach, even though it was getting later in the day. We had the feeling, we must go to the beach!
When we got there, we knew why we had that feeling. The sun was shining. No clouds. No fog. It was warm with hardly any wind. It was simply incredible.
There was a pervading peacefulness over the whole beach. There were more people there than I’d ever seen before. We watched people fly kites, sit around a fire, walk along the water, walk dogs, surf, hold hands and take pictures. We saw sand castles and drift wood forts. There were love notes written in the sand.
A shovel and a bucket kept Bracken mighty happy. (His favorite blue bucket from his grandma still had sand in it during blueberry picking leftover from our previous beach visit.)
Bracken’s enjoyment of everything was so fun to watch.
My mom and I each dipped our feet in the cold ocean, but it was too cold for Bracken, he was more interested in the sand.
And the kites.
I saw Bracken’s foot prints in the sand and it melted my heart. They were so precious to me. So I made a print next to his and took some pictures.

Blueberry picking and the ocean in one day? Oh, what a treat!
It was one of the most serene and magical beach days I’ve ever experienced here on the Oregon coast. We were in the right place at the right time and it was truly divine.
