Today I’m joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I’m knitting and reading.
.
Before you ask- why yes, that is a postcard for my reading material this week. (hehe.) I told Jeff I didn’t have any reading material to include in my Yarn Along this week because I’ve been zonking out every night instead of reading before bed, then joked I’d just take a picture of the postcard. So I did. I got this postcard in the mail this morning from my grandma during her trip to the cabin in Minnesota. Just seeing her handwriting makes me smile. And her messages are always so sweet. In this one she wrote:
“….I enjoyed the hummingbirds at the feeder, the eagles in a nearby tree and the call of the loons! We ate fish every other night, played cards and Yatzee and also had a very noisy storm.”
It brought back so many memories from our summer visits to the lake. Building forts and treehouses with the cousins, my uncles grilling fish after their morning fishing trips, baths in the lake, exploring that old barn, and reading books with my mom, sister, and aunts on the dock. Lots of good times and some of my favorite childhood memories.
.
As for knitting, I’m still working on my earthy colored cowl. I made a little progress on it this week and I’m dreaming up ideas for my next knitting projects.
In other news, my mom is visiting soon. We’re picking her up at the airport in Eugene on Friday morning. I washed her sheets and hung them on the line this morning. I took a picture because the color of the sheets perfectly matched the hydrangeas blooming nearby.
As soon as Bracken takes his nap today I’ve got a lot of cleaning to do in the room where my mom’s going to stay. I keep my crafting things in there and there’s wool and yarn and watercolors and buttons and drawings…. everywhere. It’s a happy mess, but it’s still a mess. And speaking of mess, the rest of the house could use plenty of cleaning too. We’ve been living at a pretty fast pace lately and as soon as we clean up one project/mess there are five more in it’s place. You know? It will be so nice to get things more in order around here. And I can’t wait to hug my mom. (Maybe some of those hydrangeas need to go in a vase by her bedside.)
.
What about you? Knitting anything? Reading anything? Postcards perhaps? (hehe.)
