Today I tackled some much-needed organization with my crafting things, during Bracken’s nap. Sewing things in one place (for when I do that again at some point), knitting things in one place, wool organized….
Before, it was challenging to get inspired to create anything when my supplies were a chaotic mess, strewn all over. It made my creativity feel boggled up. I needed some order. As I organized more and more, it cleared the way and my inspiration opened up.
After much progress was made, I gave myself a gift. I sat next to Bracken while he slept, and quietly spun.
I brought the wool up to my face and breathed deeply. Spinning gave me relief from the long to-do list repeating in my mind. Spinning calmed me and soothed me. It centered me. I was completely immersed in the moment, focused on what I was doing. I lost all track of time.
When Bracken awoke, we were both refreshed. I set my spinning in the first container I found and we headed outside to find Jeff. He was in the garden, saving seeds and harvesting herbs. (Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow.) I set my spinning in the afternoon light to capture a picture for you, and then we all soaked up the last of the sun before it dipped behind the treetops on the mountain.
