Joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I’m knitting and reading.
.
I finished my hat! It amazed me since I didn’t get any knitting done Saturday, but yesterday we went to Florence and all the knitting during the drive made for a finished hat. When we got home and Bracken was napping, I added the finishing touch: a yew wood button. Then I tried it on and it fit great. Jeff took some pictures, which I’ll share below.
I’ve been reading a magazine called The Mother that a reader named Zoe, from the UK, sent. First of all, I loved the cover with the little naked baby sitting on a pebble covered shoreline. I’ve been enjoying many articles in there, they all have good food for thought. And some stay with me for days after, I keep thinking about them, which shows they’ve had an impact on me.
And now, to show you the hat…….
I did a single band of moss stitch, knowing I was going to put a large decorative button there. I chose a yew wood button. The wood came from our front yard and is very special to us. I wanted to pair this hat with my favorite amber colored scarf (which was one of the first things I ever knit.) Once I put them both on, I realized the button matches the scarf perfectly.
Bracken came over and wanted to be in the pictures too. This is one of his silly faces he makes sometimes.
And sometimes he smiles for the camera.
I love my new hat! It’s so comfy and cozy.
Jeff makes this wood shine like a stone when he works his magic!
Bracken took the hat and put it on his head. He likes it too.
