Joining Ginny’s Yarn Along, sharing what I’m knitting and reading.
.
I started knitting with that grey yarn I handspun last week. I thought a big wooly cowl would be great, but didn’t have enough yarn for that. As I knit, I kept noticing how the grey wool looked so beautiful next to the black walnut wood on the knitting needles Jeff made for me. So I knew a button in black walnut wood was in it’s future. I decided to make a wooly pouch for holding a few of my knitting things. Since most all my knitting is done in the car, I’ve been thinking I need to carry along some yarn needles, a crochet hook (for dropped stitches), and a small pair of scissors. I wanted to make something for myself with this yarn because it’s my first project with my handspun yarn and it feels special.
I’ve been reading through two wool books that Kendra passed along to me. ‘More Magic Wool‘ has me inspired to try dyeing wool with nettles and ‘Wool Pets’ has me inspired to make some needlefelted owls and sheep. Needlefelting is so fun. I have someone in mind who I think will enjoy these books next.
And that hat from last week?
I finished it and just posted it in the shop.
I had the loveliest little model to show the woodland elf hat love.
How about you? Knitting? Reading?
