Throughout the week I’ve felt grateful for:
-Fall colors: maple leaves and the bright reds, oranges, and yellows on all the blueberry bushes. They’re simply radiant this time of year.
.
-A break in the rain to get pictures of new things for our Etsy Shops.
.
-A little sunshine inspiring us to get some things done in the yard before the rain returned. (And finally getting Bracken’s special lavender plant in the ground.)
.
-Bracken taking daily naps again! He had a few days in a row with no naps and it’s made us appreciate them more. I quietly get things done next to him while he sleeps, and when he wakes up we are both refreshed.
.
-Enjoying the last of our elk meat for breakfast. Thanks again to my sister Sam and her fiance Thomas.
.
-Cleaning up the kitchen before bed so we could enjoy waking up the next morning to a fresh start.
.
-A few days that were warm enough that we hardly used any firewood. (Just a small fire in the morning to warm things up a bit.)
.
-Bracken nursing to sleep and sleeping on me while I read all the Gratitude Sunday posts on the link-up from last week and commented on them (with my free arm.) Glad I had the opportunity to do that.
.
-Getting some turkey eggs from Morning Glory Farm. They’re different from our usual fare, so they felt special.
.
-My mama-heart bubbling up with so much love for my little one, I felt like I’d burst.

.
-Having good snacks on hand: hard boiled eggs, carrots (the orangest ones I’ve ever seen, also from Morning Glory Farm), and apples with homemade nut butter. We made a point to have snacks ready this week and are so glad we did!
.
-Some creative time while my loves napped side by side. My spirit thrives with creative time.
.
-A fridge full of food. And a pantry. And a freezer. So thankful for that.
.
-Coming downstairs to a warm house since Jeff woke early and got a fire going.
.
-Finding a thermal shirt (in organic cotton!) at the thrift store for Jeff. He was needing some warmer layers and it fits perfect.
.
-A big batch of soup for many easy meals. (Admittedly, I was getting tired of that soup by the very end, but I was still thankful for it.)
.
-Jeff getting the part for his machine when it stopped working. I appreciate his gift for fixing things.
.
-All of us reading books together before bed.
.
-Feeling a sweet kiss from Bracken on my cheek when he wanted me to wake up in the morning. I melted. What a lovely way to start a day.
.
-Feeling the cold air against my face while I carried firewood in my arms, knowing I’d be inside soon where it was nice and warm from the woodstove.
.
-Deciding to wait on a few things on my to-do list until the time was right, and feeling relieved and more peaceful.

.
-Being reminded of the little, simple things each day as I write what I’m grateful for.
